After half a mile turn to the left for North Slipperfield and park (not by the clubhouse parking area) nearby at map ref 140520 for the track and right of way that runs on the southeast side of the hill. Shortly later you will see the right of way signposts: ‘four miles to Dolphinton’ on the forward route and ‘three miles to Garvald’ on the return route. The track crosses the West Water and passes South Slipperfield Farm, mostly near or by a charming wooded area. My sentiments tend not to disapprove of such delinquent behaviour.
